 Regulations on hiring in Thailand
 
Law "On Protection of Labour" is applied to all types of businesses with at least one employee.
 

Opening hours and vacations in Thailand

 
The maximum number of hours for non-hazardous work - 8 hours a day or 48 hours a week. Dangerous work should not take more than 7 hours per day or 42 hours a week. Workers receive no less than 14 public holidays a year and a minimum of 6 days of leave after they have worked for a year.
All employees are entitled to a daily break 1:00 after they have worked for 5 hours. The employer and employee may agree that each break will be shorter if the total amount of rest for the day will be at least 1 hour.
Day off, at least one a week, assigned by the employer.
Work done outside of working hours, by law or by special agreement, to be paid as overtime. Pay varies from 1.5 to 3 standard hourly rate per hour of overtime. The maximum number of overtime hours should not exceed 36 per week.
 

Sick leave in Thailand

 
The employee may take sick leave for the duration necessary for him. The employer must pay for 30 days of sick leave a year.
 

Maternity leave in Thailand

 
A female employee is entitled to maternity leave for an additional 90 days, including weekends. Guaranteed payment of wages to 45 days.
 

Termination of employment contract in Thailand

 
Termination of the employment contract must be made in writing at least one month prior to the next paycheck. The employer must give the reason of dismissal.
If the tenancy agreement does not specify the duration, either party may terminate it with a warning to dismissal before or at the time of salary. The term of employment expires when the next paycheck.
 

Severance pay in Thailand

 
Employees who have worked more than 120 days but less than one year are eligible for a 30-day severance pay. If they worked from 1 to 3 years, the severance pay must be at least 90 days. If the employee was busy from 3 to 6 years old, he should get a salary for six months. After working for more than 6 but less than 10 years is assumed salary for 8 months, and those who worked more than 10 years, the entitlements of 10-month salary.

Social Security Fund in Thailand

 
The law "On Social Security" requires all employers with more than one employee and deduct social security contributions from the monthly salary of each employee.
Social Security Fund shall pay compensation for any illness, injury, etc., as well as the retirement age.
The Foundation provides six types of benefits:
• Benefit due to illness or injury
• maternity benefits
• Disability Benefits
• Handbook for death
• Child benefit
• old-age pension
 
Rate - 5% of the salary (01.01.2004). The maximum monthly wage, which applies this rate should not exceed 15,000 baht.
Employer must register the new employee in the Social Security Fund within 30 days of hire.
Payments to the Social Security office should be made by the 15th of the following month.

Fund for disability benefits in Thailand

 
The Fund provides disability benefits to workers affected by industrial illness or injury.
Every employer shall make a contribution to the Fund within 30 days of hire. This fee ranges from 0.2% to 1.0% of salary, depending on the risk classification of the enterprise.
The allowance is paid in accordance with the criteria; rate specified by law, depending on the severity of the case. In general, the benefit is 60% of salary, but not less than 2,000 baht and 9,000 baht per month. Medical expenses - up to 35,000 baht for normal cases and 50,000 for serious injuries.
